Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Toros currently carries out his academic studies as a faculty member at ITU Meteorological Engineering Department. Born in Değirmendere Village of Mersin in 1965, Prof. Dr. Toros graduated from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Department of Meteorological Engineering in 1989. In 1993, he completed his study on "Trend Analysis in Turkey's Climate from Climatological Series" and received the title of master's engineer. In 2000, he completed his doctoral thesis on "Sources and Effects of Acid Precipitation in Istanbul". He gained the title of associate professor in 2012 and professor in 2018. In his academic career, he taught computer and informatics courses as a lecturer at the ITU Informatics Institute, served as deputy director and acting director at the Institute of Science and Technology, and served as the founding school principal of ITU MTAL (2019-2024). He shares his current articles and comments in various media organizations with his studies in the fields of air quality, climate, data and modeling. As a Meteorology Engineer in the Science Board of our Akon Innovation Center; It carries out scientific and technical evaluations of projects developed in the fields of climate and atmospheric sciences, data analytics, artificial intelligence-supported forecasting systems, agricultural technologies, disaster management and renewable energy. As a member of the Scientific Board of our innovation center, he takes an active role in project monitoring, technical compliance approval and audit processes.
