Prof. Dr. M. Niyazi Eruslu currently works as a faculty member at ITU Faculty of Chemistry and Metallurgy, Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, Department of Materials. Born on September 10, 1950 in Kütahya Tavşanlı, Prof. Dr. Eruslu completed his primary education in 1961, his secondary education in Tavşanlı in 1964, and his high school education in Eskişehir in 1967. He graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Mining, Department of Metallurgical Engineering in 1972 with the title of "Metallurgical Engineer". He completed his doctorate at Sheffield University Department of Metallurgy, England, in 1976, and in 1977 he was appointed as an assistant to the Applied Metallurgy Chair of the Department of Metallurgical Engineering, ITU Faculty of Mines. He then conducted postdoctoral research at Queen's and Alberta Universities in Canada. In 1982, he became an associate professor at ITU Faculty of Chemistry and Metallurgy, Department of Metallurgical Engineering, and in 1989 he became a professor. Dr. Eruslu served as Deputy Head of the Department of Metallurgical Engineering at ITU Sakarya Faculty of Engineering between 1982 and 1983, as Deputy Dean of ITU Faculty of Chemistry and Metallurgy between 1995 and 1998, and as head of the department between 2004 and 2008. He was appointed as the Founding Rector of Yalova University, which was established on May 22, 2008, and took office on September 10, 2008. Prof. Dr. Eruslu is married, has two children and speaks English fluently. Prof. Dr. M. Niyazi Eruslu; It carries out technical feasibility, engineering suitability and sustainability evaluations of projects developed in the fields of material science, construction technologies, energy systems, aviation, automotive and environmental research. He takes part in the monitoring, technical compliance approval and inspection processes of projects in these areas in the Scientific Board of our innovation center.
